Sarah manages the philanthropy communication pieces and the community vitality grant programs for SMIF. Originally from Rapid City, SD, Sarah has lived in southern Minnesota since attending MSU- Mankato over 20 years ago, earning a bachelor’s degree in English Lit. Previously she has worked as a childbirth educator, a doula, and at the Waseca Public Library, while also raising her four daughters. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs as well as hearing local live music, dabbling in writing, hosting a houseful of friends, and reading as many books as possible.

What is one of your favorite southern Minnesota festivals/events?

I really love the Waseca County Fair and the Marching Classic. Both are like a party for the whole town.
