As the world grappled with the immediate fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, SMIF moved quickly to double down on supporting its region. SMIF partnered with many entities to provide relief to child care providers, businesses and communities, and continues to do so today. Through these partnerships, and by leveraging resources, SMIF’s total impact in the region has exceeded $23 million and has supported more than 500 child care providers, 4,000 young children, more than 1,800 businesses and tens of thousands of southern Minnesota residents.
