Marcia has been with Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF) in the lending area for over 14 years. Her primary responsibilities include working with the Small Enterprise Loan Program, Minnesota Emerging Entrepreneur Loan Program, and the Grow a Farmer Fund. Marcia enjoys helping businesses in SMIF’s 20-county region start-up and/or grow. Marcia came to SMIF in 2005 with 14 years of banking experience and a broad business background. She grew up working at her parent’s greenhouse, was a purchaser at two businesses, and worked a farmer’s market for many years.
She graduated with a degree in Agricultural Business Administration from the University of Minnesota. In addition, Marcia has added to her knowledge with courses such as CoreFour Business Planning and Profit Mastery and is a graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership Program. She has been active in her community serving on the Waseca-Le Sueur Regional Library Board of Trustees for over 10 years and the Northfield Enterprise Center Board of Trustees for nearly two years.

What is one of your favorite things about living in southern Minnesota?
Each area having many festivals/events. Hay Daze, Litomysl Festival, Kolachke Days, Fall Festival & Marching Band Classic to name a few.
