Evan’s Eatery is a new food truck serving hot sandwiches, burgers (beef and bison), quesadillas, waffle fries and more. Based out of New Richland, they travel to various towns in the region. SMIF’s loan was used to purchase the trailer.

Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm opened in 2017 and is a 50-acre hobby farm where people can enjoy handmade wood-fired artisan pizza with locally-sourced ingredients. Visitors can also explore the farm and listen to live music. SMIF’s loan was used for machinery, equipment and working capital.

The Bleu Dog Café, Welch (Goodhue)
The Bleu Dog Café opened in 2017 and is a breakfast, lunch, brunch, and soon-to-be fine dining dinner restaurant. Located across from the Cannon River and a mile from the ski area, the restaurant is a hot spot for tourists and locals alike. SMIF’s loan was used for working capital.

Trio Coffee Wine & Ale House is a new establishment that features an ever-changing selection of boutique wines and craft beers with small bites to complement. They also serve hot and cold brew coffees, teas, sodas and smoothies, and offer a casual environment to enjoy local music entertainment.  SMIF’s loan was used for the purchase and remodeling of the Daily Grind restaurant.

A hybrid between a medical clinic and a day spa, it operates under the supervision of a medical doctor. SMIF's loan was used for equipment, inventory, supplies and working capital.

ROGA is a new state-of-the-art USA Gymnastics training facility, serving children and young adults in Rochester and the surrounding communities. ROGA is a private gym with a primary focus on gymnastics; however, other classes and services are offered as well, including tumbling, Parkour, Ninja Warriors, birthday parties, field trips, and open gym. SMIF’s loan was used for gymnastics equipment.

Antonia Navarro is a beginning poultry producer who has raised three flocks in the Main Street Project Incubator Program over the last several years and has gained experience in the production of free-range poultry and in small business management.  SMIF’s loan was used for two seasonal flocks of 1,500 birds as the beginning of an independent poultry operation within a regional collaborative under the Main Street Project.

BioPlastic Solutions produces environmentally-friendly plastic products, including PVC replacements. They provide these products and services to the building and trade, furniture, millwork and other industries. SMIF’s loan was used for equipment and improved quality control measurement equipment for their move from Blooming Prairie to Ellendale. They are an existing loan client.

Heartland Retreat & Rental Hall is a new business opening in 2019 focused on retreats and rental opportunities. They will be an ideal location for quilting, scrap booking and other hobby retreats, and will also be open to event rentals including showers, parties, reunions and more. The loan will be used for working capital.

Austin BioSciences was formed in 2016 and is a medical diagnostic company focused on cancer detection. The SEED investment from SMIF will be used for research and development costs related to a testing method to detect aggressive breast cancer.

Checkmeet Local is a new social application that helps small businesses and people communicate in a local area. Local businesses will be able to communicate to local customers directly when they are near a business. The SEED investment from SMIF will be used for the development of the app.

Geneticure performs genetic testing in order to direct pharmacotherapy, or the medical treatment by means of drugs. The Equity investment from SMIF will be used to complete product trials and generate commercial traction for blood pressure regulation.

Thaddeus Medical Systems is a diagnostic company created to explore emerging technology, new devices, methods and materials to help better diagnose conditions that may be missed by current methods. The SEED investment from SMIF will be used for the development of a prototype for a device that regulates blood temperature after a blood draw.
