The Prosperity Initiative
The Prosperity Initiative (PI) promotes inclusive entrepreneurship and business growth in a 20-county region of southern Minnesota. This program supports entrepreneurs from racial or ethnic minority groups and/or who identify as women, veterans, persons with a disability, people with income below the federal poverty threshold, LGBTQIA+ persons.
Depending on the stage of your business, we will connect you with the right resources at the right time to prosper! The Prosperity Initiative provides coaching and business resources for a 12-month period.
Guidelines | Application
Phase 1: Assessment
Entrepreneurs at any stage in their business planning are encouraged to apply. Those who are in the assessment phase (Phase 1) will start the process by meeting one-on-one with a business coach to undergo a deep-dive assessment of the business to identify goals and priorities. The assessment will determine if the business is ready for Phase 2 or if the business needs to connect with other resources.
Phase 2: Coaching
Entrepreneurs that complete the deep-dive assessment with a business coach and are determined to be ready for Phase 2 will then meet regularly with a professional coach to set intentional goals and objectives to scale growth. A personalized plan of action will be developed, and entrepreneurs will be trained on a variety of advanced business skills such as QuickBooks management, marketing and financial planning. This part of the program typically lasts for 12 months, depending upon business needs.
