History of Le Sueur community Foundation

In 2006, the community of Le Sueur participated in the Town Meeting Initiative (TMI) sponsored by Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation. The purpose and results of the Le Sueur TMI was to: Increase civic engagement Identify new community leaders Build on existing assets in our community The Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation led Le Sueur through the process and provided a $12,000 matching grant to help fund projects that the community decided to pursue. Before the Le Sueur Leadership group disbanded, it collaborated with SMIF to establish the Le Sueur Community Foundation for the purpose of sustaining the work that had begun and for supporting future projects that will benefit the Le Sueur area.
